Usually there a 2 types of relays:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n a)\u00a0Latching<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 it can have one or two coils and it can remain in the last position when the current is turned off. These type of relays are useful in applications where power consumption must be low because they require no current to maintain their position.<\/p>\n b)\u00a0Non-Latching<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 it has a spring or magnet that maintains its initial state of NC (normal closed) when no current is flowing through the coil.
